Part II - The LVR platform¶
Part II applies the foundations to the LVR-InfoKom fabric. It starts with the fabric as it was found in the diagnostic files of February 2025, then explains every building block of the platform: the TX switches and their QinQ design, the attachment points on Leafs and Border Leafs, the traffic classes and their exact packet paths, the firewall test zone, the monitoring design and its budgets, the server build, the orchestration and data pipeline, and the dashboards and alerts.
| Chapter | You will be able to ... |
|---|---|
| 10. The fabric as TRex sees it | describe the parts of the EVPN-VXLAN fabric that matter for measurements: access model, gateways, firewalls, DCI |
| 11. Platform architecture | explain the components, the two TRex instances and the design principles |
| 12. QinQ on the TX switches | explain why each attachment point is an isolated S-VLAN and configure/verify a TX switch |
| 13. Attachment points on Leafs and Border Leafs | configure and verify an attachment point and add a VLAN under test |
| 14. Traffic classes and packet walks | follow every class hop by hop and predict what its latency includes |
| 15. The firewall test zone | explain the firewall zone options, routing, rules and their risks |
| 16. Monitoring design and budgets | explain the stream matrix, rates, limits and how to change it safely |
| 17. Building the TRex server | understand every installation step and verify the result |
| 18. Orchestration and the data pipeline | explain how streams are generated and how numbers reach InfluxDB |
| 19. Dashboards and alerts for LVR | read each dashboard and understand each alert rule |
